OMG!  Congratulations and good luck!  Scared, that's normal!  But think about the aftermath!  You'll start to feel better instantly.  Let me know how you feel a week after the surgery.

Topic: RE: Restaurant cards
Most of the kids menus are like that, but I-hop has a grilled talapia. I usually order it for my son, and then I eat it and order popcorn shrimp off the adult menu for him. Some restaurants do have healthy kids entrees, I usually order an appetizer, or I take stuff home from the entree menu and eat it over a few days. I just thought it would be nice to have the option if it was out there.

I've had a restaurant card since day one, and I have to say, I've never wanted to use it. I'd rather order from the appetizer menu, and look like an adult... but that's my baggage.... Aren't the kids menus more restrictive??  I always think of chicken nuggets (breaded and fried) or hot dogs (fake meat).... am I wrong?

1) Have you used a chat room before and can it be a useful tool for us? Yes but this site is difficult to navigate. It took me a full half hour just to get this far.....

2) If you are a man, would you participate in a Men Only session? Sure. Why not.

3) As a pre-op person, would you participate in a session just for pre-ops similar to our Pre-op & Newbie Q&A at our in-person meeting?

4) If you are a Kaiser patient, would you like a session about getting through or supporting you through the Kaiser process? Definitely.

5) What other topics would you like us to schedule a chat room session for? cooking tips for the kitchen-challenged. variety in food. How to measure or guage/estimate daily protein intake.

6) For any of these possible chat rooms, what are your preferred dates and times and list which topic you are writing about? no preference

7) Would you be interested in moderating a session and, if so, which one(s)? no

8) Should these sessions be scheduled weekly, monthly or quarterly? Please state which session you are referring to.  Monthly is fine.

9) Anything else to say about this possible feature? no

Topic: RE: Weekly Question: What foods/drinks do you no longer eat/drink post-op and why?
Me, I'm 21 months post-op and I have completely eliminated carbonated drinks.  I drink 1 cup of decaf coffee in the morning and after tha****er, water and more water.  I no longer eat anything fried.  Although I have eaten KFC or Popeye's chicken after surgery, but only 1 or 1 1/2 chicken meat only, completely taking out the batter & skin.  I don't do any of their side dishes because with the chicken meat, I usualy get satisfied.  I no longer eat potatoes, especially french fries.  I have replaced all of my fattening food attitives with everything fat free.  Like fat free salad dressing or fat free mayo.

Before my surgery, I used to snack on candy bars and anything and everything chocolate.  I love to bake so when I would bake chocolate chip cookies, I used to down so many.  I no longer do that.  I still love to bake but now, I bake because I love to bake and all the baked goods, I take with me to work and share with my co-workers.

I also no longer eat ice cream.  Before my surgery, every Tuesday, my husband & I would get 2 to 3 scoops of ice cream at Baskin Robins.  I no longer do that.  I have replaced that snack with either cucumber or some type of fruit.

I no longer eat rice, just because I choose not to and plus, I am so used to not eating rice these days that I don't crave it at all.

Topic: RE: November Meeting Topics
Are we going to discuss these at the December meeting? Or should I (or you) post a December meeting topic thread? Maybe we should post a December topic thread anyway?
